Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine met with the leader of the Conservative Party of Great Britain, Kami Badenoch

In the framework of his working visit to London, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with the Leader of the Conservative Party of Great Britain and Leader of the Official Opposition, His Majesty Cameron.

Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked the Conservative Party and the British Parliament for their principled position and consistent support of Ukraine.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key issues on the agenda, such as strengthening defence assistance to Ukraine, including the development of air defence systems, artillery capabilities and drone programmes, as well as the involvement of British defence companies in joint production in Ukraine.

Particular attention was paid to the sanctions policy against russia and the need to shut down schemes to circumvent restrictions, primarily through the "shadow fleet" and the supply of critical components to the russian military-industrial complex.

The parties agreed that justice requires the use of frozen russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine. They also discussed the issue of the proceeds from the sale of Chelsea football club, which have not yet been allocated to help our country.

A separate humanitarian issue was raised - the return of illegally deported Ukrainian children. Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked for the support of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative. "Today, as russia continues its war against the entire free world, strong and cross-party support for Ukraine in the UK is critical," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed.
