Ruslan Stefanchuk met with Robin Wagener, Chairman of the German-Ukrainian Interparliamentary Cooperation Group, in Berlin
Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met with Robin Wagener, Chairman of the German-Ukrainian Interparliamentary Cooperation Group, and his colleagues in Berlin.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key issues of security, interparliamentary cooperation and support for Ukraine in countering russian aggression.
Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked Germany for its significant military, humanitarian and financial assistance to Ukraine. He stressed that German weapons save the lives of Ukrainians every day, and that the joint position on sanctions significantly increases pressure on the aggressor. ‘Our dialogue has once again confirmed that support for Ukraine in Germany has a strong cross-party basis and is based on genuine friendship and partnership,’ said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.
Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasised that only through the strength and unity of democratic states can russia be forced to sit down at the negotiating table. The interlocutors agreed that the path to a just peace lies through strengthening Ukraine's defence capabilities, expanding sanctions and blocking the schemes used by the russian military-industrial complex to circumvent restrictions.
The issue of Ukraine's economic stability was discussed separately. The Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada stressed that the support of parliaments is important for attracting long-term financial assistance, in particular through the use of frozen russian assets in the European Union.
‘This is not just a question of finance — it is a question of justice: the aggressor must pay for its crimes,’ Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasised.
The parties also touched upon the topic of Ukraine's European integration. Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed his hope for further assistance from German MPs in unblocking negotiation clusters and countering political manipulations that are hindering Ukraine's movement towards the EU.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to intensify interparliamentary cooperation, from resuming the work of friendship groups to establishing permanent coordination between key parliamentary committees in the areas of foreign policy, defence and European integration.
‘Together with Germany, we are strengthening Europe's security and bringing about peace based on justice,’ concluded the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
