The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine held a meeting with German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier
During a meeting with Federal President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Berlin, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked the President for his personal position and consistent efforts aimed at consolidating political forces and German society in support of Ukraine.

Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasised that Germany is one of Ukraine's key partners in the political, military, humanitarian and sanctions spheres. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Federal Republic of Germany has provided almost €50 billion in aid to Ukraine and Ukrainians who have found temporary refuge on its territory.
President Frank-Walter Steinmeier confirmed that Germany deeply understands Ukraine's current needs, primarily in strengthening air defence and energy security. The governments of the two countries are in constant working contact to implement joint decisions.
The parties discussed further security support for Ukraine. Ruslan Stefanchuk noted the high value of expanding German defence assistance programmes, particularly in the field of air defence, and emphasised: ‘Restoring peace in Europe is only possible through the strength and ability of collective defence to stop the aggressor.’
Separately, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada noted the important role of President Steinmeier in the development of Ukrainian-German interregional partnership. More than 250 communities in Ukraine already have partnerships with communities in Germany — this is an example of living European solidarity that strengthens common values and supports Ukrainian communities in times of war.
