Ukraine continues to take all the necessary steps to ensure our country's accession to the European Union: Oleksandr Korniienko
On 2 October, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko met with a delegation from the European Commission's Directorate-General for Enlargement and Neighbourhood (DG NEAR).
The event was attended by representatives of the Ukrainian Parliament's committees: Olena Shulyak, Chairperson of the Committee on State Building, Local Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning; Yulia Sirko, First Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on Transport and Infrastructure; Pavlo Pavlish, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on Legal Policy; Andrii Zhupanin, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities; and Mariia Marchenko, Chairperson of the Subcommittee on European Integration of the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy.
The parties discussed a number of draft laws that are important for Ukraine's European integration path. "Our country is committed to its European course. Bringing legislation in line with EU standards and strengthening institutional resilience remain our top priority," said Oleksandr Korniienko.
According to him, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine continues to actively work on reforms under the Ukraine Facility Plan and to take all the necessary steps for Ukraine's accession to the European Union.
