Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk: Dutch Parliament's decisions strengthen support for Ukraine and bring fair peace closer

On 23 September 2025, during a plenary session, the Dutch Parliament supported 12 resolutions aimed at strengthening aid to Ukraine and countering russian aggression. As emphasised by Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, these decisions are further evidence of solidarity with Ukrainians.

One of the key decisions was a resolution calling on the government to decide on the location of a special tribunal on aggression against Ukraine in The Hague. «The overwhelming majority of MPs supported the document, which paves the way for the creation of a fair international mechanism for bringing the aggressor to justice,» Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasised.

Other documents adopted include resolutions on continuing political, military and financial assistance to Ukraine, direct support for our defence industry, establishing minimum standards for aid spending, increasing sanctions pressure on russia and countering the circumvention of sanctions through third countries.

According to Ruslan Stefanchuk, the adopted package of resolutions demonstrates the consistency and determination of the Netherlands: assistance to Ukraine is becoming a systematic and long-term policy, and international legal instruments for punishing the aggressor are being further developed. «These decisions strengthen our common struggle and bring closer the day when Ukraine will achieve a just peace,» emphasised the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
