Yulia Svyrydenko met with Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, Yvette Cooper

Рrime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko met with the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, Yvette Cooper.

“I was pleased to welcome the newly appointed UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper to Kyiv on her first overseas visit – another strong signal of the UK's steadfast support for Ukraine,” noted the Head of Government.

During the meeting, the parties focused strengthening Ukraine’s air defense and economic pressure on russia.

“We agreed on the need for further robust and coordinated sanctions, targeting both the sources that finance russia’s war machine and those who assist in evading restrictions,” emphasized the Head of Government.

Besides, Yulia Svyrydenko and Yvette Cooper addressed cooperation in defense production and establishment of joint ventures, as well as advancing our partnership under the Ukraine–UK Free Trade Agreement.

Separately, Yulia Svyrydenko thanked Secretary of State Yvette Cooper and her husband, Mr. Ed Balls, for their generosity in hosting a Ukrainian family who had been forced to flee russia’s war.
