Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko meets with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko met with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. During the meeting, the parties focused on economic cooperation between Ukraine and Slovakia.

They discussed the progress of key infrastructure and energy projects. In this context, the Prime Ministers welcomed the opening of a narrow-gauge railway section between Uzhhorod and Chop. This is Ukraine’s first European-type railway, creating new opportunities for developing passenger connections with several European capitals.

“We also agreed to work on substantive preparations for the next round of joint consultations between the governments of Ukraine and Slovakia, which will take place soon in Slovakia,” emphasised Yulia Svyrydenko.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine thanked the Slovak Government for its unwavering support for Ukraine’s European integration aspirations and the need to open EU negotiation clusters for Ukraine and Moldova as soon as possible.
