Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk delivered a speech at the G7 Parliamentary Summit in Ottawa

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk took part in the first working session of the G7 Parliamentary Summit, which is taking place in the Canadian capital, Ottawa. The central topic of discussion was the fight against disinformation and the threats it poses to democracy.

In his speech, Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed that russia has been systematically lying to the world and its own citizens for decades, and is now doing so even more aggressively - through digital platforms, election interference, spreading fakes and attempts to justify its own crimes.

"russia kills not only with missiles and drones, but also with lies. This can only be countered with the truth, unity and increased support for Ukraine," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada stressed.

He also noted that countering disinformation is an integral part of the common struggle for a just peace. And it can be achieved only through strength - reliable security guarantees, modern weapons and effective sanctions pressure on the aggressor.
