Yulia Svyrydenko addresses UN Security Council

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko spoke at the UN Security Council. In her address, the Head of Government highlighted russia’s crimes against Ukrainians and drew attention to the tragic impact of russian aggression on Ukrainian children.

“The youngest victim of russia’s attack on Kyiv was not yet three years old. Born under shelling in October 2022, she was killed by a russian missile in August 2025. russia kills children from afar with missiles and drones, and those under its control are abducted, their documents changed, and their Ukrainian identity erased. This is systematic russian policy,” stated Yulia Svyrydenko.

She underscored that thousands of Ukrainian children have been injured, are missing, or have been abducted, with 1.6 million children under russian control in temporarily occupied territories.

The Prime Minister stressed that russia has deliberately chosen a path of terror against civilians, and any negotiations must be conditional on a ceasefire and credible security guarantees.

“Every abducted Ukrainian child must be returned home. Our soldiers, with their blood, are doing what the Security Council should do through votes: halting aggression and defending the UN Charter’s principles. I called on the world to turn words into actions and strip russia of the means to fund its war and crimes,” emphasised Yulia Svyrydenko.
