Meeting with President of the Swiss Confederation Karin Keller-Sutter

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, alongside Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak and First Deputy Foreign Minister Sergiy Kyslytsya, met with President of the Swiss Confederation Karin Keller-Sutter and Head of the International Security Division at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Gabriel Lüchinger.

“We briefed our Swiss partners on the tragic events of the night in Kyiv. As of now, 18 people are known to have died, including four children. Pressure on the aggressor must intensify, and we look to a strong response from other countries to the killing of our children. I am deeply grateful for Switzerland’s sympathy and solidarity in this time,” stressed Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

She expressed gratitude for Switzerland’s ongoing assistance in humanitarian demining, healthcare, and energy.

The parties discussed coordinating peace efforts following the Washington summit, further steps in this direction, enhancing economic and trade cooperation, and Switzerland’s role in Ukraine’s reconstruction.

“Switzerland is one of our most reliable partners. We are working to involve more Swiss companies in Ukraine’s reconstruction,” noted Yulia Svyrydenko.

The meeting also covered Switzerland’s long-term commitment to Ukraine’s reconstruction under the Ukraine Country Programme, valued at CHF 5 billion by 2036.
