Congratulations from Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, on Ukraine's Independence Day

Dear Ukrainians!

We are celebrating the 34th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.

This is not just a date on the calendar. It is the fulfilment of the dreams of many generations and proof that the Ukrainian people have always strived to live in their own free state. 24 August is the day when we declared to the whole world: Ukraine was, is and will be.

But independence is not only an achievement, it is also a daily duty. It is still being fought for today — on the front lines and in the rear, in the economy, diplomacy and politics. Each of us creates it with the power of unity and devotion to Ukraine.

The enemy is trying to break us with missiles and terror, to sow discord with fakes and lies. But we have stood firm and will continue to stand firm, because we are united by our love of freedom and our loyalty to the memory of our fallen heroes. We bow our heads to those who gave their lives for the state, and we continue their work — to defend Ukraine.

Today, Ukraine's independence has a global dimension. It has become a symbol of the struggle for freedom and justice for the entire democratic world. That is why we are not alone — our allies and friends are by our side.

Our task is to preserve unity and strengthen the state. Only together will we achieve a just peace, obtain reliable security guarantees and open the way for Ukraine's free development among the European nations.

I congratulate everyone on Independence Day. This is a celebration of our dignity, courage and freedom.

Glory to the defenders of Ukraine's independence.

Glory to Ukraine!
