The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Jan Lipavský
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation, support for Ukraine and peaceful settlement with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Jan Lipavský.
First of all, Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked the Czech Republic for its unwavering position on supporting Ukraine's territorial integrity, condemning russian aggression and providing political, economic, military-technical and humanitarian assistance. «Today, Ukraine is going through difficult times and facing great challenges. Both President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and we at the parliamentary level spend entire days in consultations and negotiations with our colleagues. The main issue for us is this: Ukraine and Europe must be direct participants in the negotiation processes. Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine. Nothing about Europe without Europe,» the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada emphasised.
The parties separately discussed the peace process and the need to preserve the principle of inviolability of borders. Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasised that any decisions about Ukraine's future must be made with the participation of our state, and that a just peace is only possible if international law is respected.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada thanked the government, parliament and people of the Czech Republic for their support, including on a personal level:
«I am sincerely grateful to you personally, to the President, with whom I have had the opportunity to meet three or four times, to the Parliament and, most importantly, to the people of the Czech Republic for the strong support we are receiving. I believe that together we will prevail.»
He emphasised that the Ukrainian-Czech partnership is based on mutual respect, shared values and commitment to the principles of freedom and democracy:
«Our peoples stand side by side in the struggle for peace and security. And I am confident that this solidarity will only grow stronger.»
