Mobile services will be available in Ukraine, even in areas with no network coverage: Yulia Svyrydenko
Ukraine has become one of the first countries in the world to launch Starlink Direct to Cell technology, which provides direct satellite connectivity without antennas or additional equipment, requiring only 4G and a SIM card.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov and Kyivstar CEO Oleksandr Komarov tested it.
Kyivstar plans to trigger the first stage in the fall of 2025, which will enable users to send SMS messages from each point in the controlled territory of Ukraine.
“During the war, when the enemy is deliberately targeting energy and communications, and some communities risk being cut off from information, such technology is not only a matter of comfort but also of security,” emphasized Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
