The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, held a telephone conversation with the Speaker of the Danish Parliament, Søren Gade

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, informed the Speaker of the Danish Parliament, Søren Gade, about Ukraine's efforts in the context of potential international peace negotiations.

Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed that any decisions taken without Ukraine's participation would not be legitimate and would not contribute to establishing lasting peace. On the contrary, such agreements would only encourage russia to continue its aggressive actions.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada stressed that the issue of territorial integrity is fundamental for Ukraine: «We will not give up a single metre of Ukrainian land and will not trade our sovereignty. Europe and EU institutions must be fully involved in the peace process,» Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasised.

He noted that he shared Søren Gade's vision: first, to stop the killings by means of an unconditional ceasefire on the part of russia, and only then to hold a meeting at the leadership level capable of ensuring a just, lasting peace and long-term security in the region.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada thanked the Speaker of the Danish Parliament and his colleagues for their principled position, consistent support for Ukraine and advocacy of our country's European integration.
