Yulia Svyrydenko: Negotiations on Ukraine and Moldova's accession to the EU should move forward together

Negotiations on Ukraine and Moldova's accession to the European Union must move forward simultaneously. This was emphasized by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko during a meeting with Prime Minister of Finland Petteri Orpo.

"I had a meaningful conversation with Prime Minister of Finland Petteri Orpo. We discussed the progress of negotiations on Ukraine's membership in the EU.

I emphasized that Ukraine has fulfilled all the necessary conditions for opening Cluster 1 (“Fundamentals”) and continued constructive consultations to advance this stage. We believe that the accession negotiations between Ukraine and Moldova should move forward together," the Head of Government said.

Yulia Svyrydenko expressed confidence that Ukraine's membership in the EU would strengthen the long-term security of all of Europe.

At the same time, the Prime Minister noted that Ukraine counts on Finland's continued support and joint work for a consistent and fair approach to the enlargement process.
