The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, continues to engage in active dialogue with international partners. During a telephone conversation with the Speaker of the Finnish Parliament, Jussi Halla-Aho, he discussed ways to achieve a just and sustainable peace based on the principles of international law.
The parties emphasised that any agreements reached without Ukraine's participation would not be legitimate and would not bring lasting results. «Our positions coincide: any agreements reached without Ukraine will not be legitimate and will not bring lasting results. Ukraine will not trade its territory and sovereignty,» Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed.
Jussi Halla-Aho confirmed Finland's unwavering support and the Ukrainian people's right to determine the terms of peace independently. He stressed that Finland will continue to provide comprehensive assistance to Ukraine and support its position in international forums.
Separately, the parties focused on the importance of maintaining and strengthening sanctions pressure on the aggressor state, continuing military and financial assistance, and further promoting Ukraine's European integration course.
Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed his gratitude to Finland and personally to Jussi Halla-Aho for their solidarity with Ukraine, their clear and principled position, and their active advocacy of Ukrainian interests in Europe and the world.
