Yulia Svyrydenko discusses European integration, defense cooperation, and investments in Ukraine's reconstruction with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko met with Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Oana-Silvia Țoiu, who is on an official visit to Ukraine. The conversation centered on European integration, deepening defense cooperation, participation of Romanian businesses in the rehabilitation of the Ukrainian economy, and the implementation of joint infrastructure projects.
"Ukraine and Romania share a common vision of the future of our region in the European Union. We appreciate Romania's support on this path and are determined to coordinate our efforts even more closely in the process of gaining membership," said Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
During the conversation, they discussed the possibilities of expanding defense cooperation, including joint production. One of the options for such cooperation could be a model similar to the Danish one, which provides for the direct financing of military production in Ukraine.
Special attention was paid to the issue of involving Romanian companies in the process of rebuilding Ukraine. Yulia Svyrydenko invited a special envoy for reconstruction to come to Kyiv with a business delegation to develop specific projects.
Ukraine and Romania also agreed to intensify work on joint infrastructure projects, including the construction of a bridge across the Tisza River, border traffic and an intergovernmental cooperation agreement.
"I am grateful to the Minister for her willingness to act quickly and substantively. I believe that our dialog will bring tangible results in the near future," summarized Yulia Svyrydenko.
