Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko discusses cooperation with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva
Оn 1 August, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko held her first call in her new role with Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund.
During the conversation, the parties discussed further steps in the cooperation between Ukraine and the IMF under the current programme. Kristalina Georgieva expressed words of support and condolence in connection with the latest russian shelling of Kyiv, which occurred the previous day.
“I am grateful to Kristalina Georgieva for her warm words of solidarity. Together with the team, we continue working on the 2026 budget and seeking optimal solutions to ensure financial stability amidst the war while advancing reforms,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.
An IMF mission is expected to arrive in Kyiv at the end of August. Several months of intensive work and negotiations lie ahead. The Ukrainian Government counts on continued support from the Fund and reaffirms its commitment to fulfilling its obligations.
