Yulia Svyrydenko discusses Ukraine’s participation in EXPO-2025 with Japanese Ambassador
On 1 August, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko held a meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine, Masashi Nakagome.
One of the key topics was the upcoming National Day of Ukraine at EXPO-2025 in Osaka, scheduled for 5 August. Yulia Svyrydenko expressed gratitude for the invitation to the ceremonial event, which will serve as an important gesture of appreciation to the international community for its support of Ukraine.
“Ukraine is sincerely grateful to Japan for its unwavering support. The National Day at EXPO-2025 will be an opportunity to once again express our gratitude. While I remain in Kyiv working with the team on our action plan, we are actively preparing for participation in the events in Japan,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.
The meeting also covered:
- Organising a Ukrainian-Japanese business forum this autumn;
- Preparations for the arrival of two Japanese business delegations;
- Advancing an investment agreement between Ukraine and Japan, with signing planned for this autumn.
Special attention was given to Japan’s potential participation in the Ukraine-initiated international Culture Resilience Alliance, which aims to support culture as a factor of resilience and recovery during wartime.
