The OSCE must stand with Ukraine — Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk held a phone call with newly elected OSCE PA President Pere Joan Pons Sampietro

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk congratulated his counterpart on being elected to the high office and wished him success during this challenging time for the Organization. He also expressed gratitude for the clear and principled stance of the newly elected President in condemning russia’s aggression against Ukraine and supporting the Ukrainian people. He emphasized the importance of such statements immediately after the election, as a strong signal of international solidarity.

The parties discussed the prospects for the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s involvement in consolidating international assistance, maintaining the war against Ukraine as a priority on the global agenda, and increasing pressure on the aggressor state. Particular attention was also given to Ukraine’s European integration and the need for sustained OSCE support on this path.

«During the conversation, a clear message of unity was heard: the OSCE must stand with Ukraine, bringing participating states together in pursuit of our shared goal — peace and justice,» noted Ruslan Stefanchuk according to the results of the call.

The Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament also invited the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly to visit Kyiv and one of Ukraine’s regions to witness firsthand the consequences of the war and the needs of communities affected by the aggression. Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized the importance of continued cooperation and expressed confidence in the OSCE’s steadfast support for Ukraine moving forward.
