The Order of Malta is a unique entity with a history of over 1,000 years. It does not have its own territory, but is a recognized sovereign subject of international law. The Order of Malta is known for its large-scale humanitarian activities, especially in conflict zones and natural disasters. The Order has diplomatic relations with over 100 countries around the world, including Ukraine. We spoke with Antonio Gazzanti Pugliese di Cotrone, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Order of Malta in Ukraine, about the important role of the Order in supporting people in need.
