Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Andorra held the first-ever meeting at the level of heads of Government

Тhe Prime Ministers of Ukraine Shmyhal and Andorra Xavier Espot Zamora discussed strengthening cooperation between the countries. The first-ever meeting at the level of heads of government took place in Spain on the sidelines of the UN Conference on Financing for Development.

"We appreciate Andorra's consistent position in international organizations - the UN, OSCE, Council of Europe - defending Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders," said Denys Shmyhal. He thanked his colleague for supporting Ukraine in the fight against russian aggression, for Andorra's accession to the Register of Damage, and the participation as an observer in the working group on the establishment of a Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine informed about the security situation in the country.

"We need even greater international pressure on the aggressor. We highly appreciate Andorra's accession to the EU sanctions policy against russia," said Denys Shmyhal. He also stressed the importance of preventing the circumvention of sanctions and called for greater coordination in this area.

In addition, the Head of the Ukrainian Government stressed that russia must compensate for all the damage caused to our country.

"We are working on a mechanism to confiscate frozen russian assets and use them for the benefit of Ukraine," the Prime Minister said.

Denys Shmyhal said that Xavier Espot Zamora had accepted an invitation to visit Ukraine in autumn. The parties agreed to strengthen direct intergovernmental contacts and cooperation.
