Ukraine will be the first country outside the EU to join Roam like at Home: Denys Shmyhal
Ukraine continues to achieve significant results in sectoral integration with the European Union. This was emphasized by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a session of the Cabinet of Ministers on June 18.
The Head of Government said that the European Parliament had endorsed the prolongation of the “transport visa-free regime” for Ukraine until the end of 2025.
"Thus, the Agreement has been extended for the fourth time. Ukrainian carriers will not need special permits in the future," said Denys Shmyhal.
Moreover, according to him, the European Commission has approved Ukraine's accession to the EU Roam like at Home policy. The policy allows Ukrainians to avoid paying roaming charges for phone calls and mobile Internet use in the 27 countries of the European Union.
“We expect that the EU Council will soon approve this decision and from the beginning of 2026 Ukraine will become part of the single European communication space,” the Prime Minister emphasized and added that no country outside the European Union had joined the Roam like at Home policy so far.
“We consider this as a high appreciation of our European integration efforts,” emphasized Denys Shmyhal.
