Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefancuk addressed the Senate of France

Within the official visit to the French Republic, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk  addressed members of the French Senate at the invitation of the President of the Senate Gerard Larcher.

«This happened exactly 85 years after General Charles de Gaulle's address ‘To All the French’, which became a symbol of the Resistance in France. Today, Ukraine chooses freedom every day, consciously and uncompromisingly. Just as France did in the past,» said Ruslan Stefanchuk during his speech.

The Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament expressed his gratitude to the French partners for supporting Ukraine in the fight against russian aggression – for the weapons that save lives and protect Ukrainian cities, for the shelter provided by France to Ukrainian children, for their clear political position.

«We are not asking for pity – we are looking for allies. We are not asking for leniency – we are asking to be by our side. And France is among those who are by our side. We are fighting not only for our land – we are fighting for the principles on which Europe stands,» outlined Ruslan Stefanchuk.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed confidence that the Ukrainian-French partnership would only grow stronger and thanked France for its solidarity and assistance.
