Power in Unity: Kyiv Celebrates International Children’s Day and 4th Anniversary of the International Parliament of mother’s NGO

Kyiv, June 2, 2025 — The elegant Sofiyivsky Grand Hall of the Premier Palace Hotel hosted the solemn event “Power in Unity: Founders Day Celebration”, which brought together over 100 participants — diplomats, human rights advocates, civil society leaders, and partners — in honor of International Children's Day and the fourth anniversary of the NGO International Parliament of Mothers (IPM).

The event was held in partnership with the Diplomatic Club of the City of Kharkiv, a steadfast ally of the International Parliament of Mothers for four consecutive years. This enduring collaboration has seen dozens of initiatives brought to life within the walls of the Diplomatic Club, promoting the values of peace, mutual understanding, and international cooperation.

Honorary President of the Diplomatic Club, Serhii Chernov, and the Head of the Kharkiv Diplomatic Club, Emin Nadzhafli, expressed heartfelt words of support, emphasizing the vital role of women in peacebuilding, intercultural dialogue, and societal transformation.

The event, titled “Power in Unity: Founders Day Celebration”, highlighted the growing role of women in peacebuilding, diplomacy, and post-war recovery. Hosted by IMP President Emma Marynkevych and Vice President Iryna Kozydubova, the evening was rich with music, recognition, and new announcements — including the opening of a new IMP branch in Switzerland, where thousands of Ukrainians have found refuge.

A special performance by Maestro Volodymyr Hryshko, followed by a charity lottery to support women and children affected by war, added warmth and generosity to the occasion.

During the event, the organization presented its 2025 strategic focus:

  • Psychosocial rehabilitation using advanced VR and EMDR therapies;
  • Professional reintegration and digital training for displaced and unemployed women;
  • The launch of a Diplomacy and Leadership School for Women.

Honorees included:

  • The Diplomatic Club of Kharkiv, for fostering dialogue and cultural diplomacy;
  • Kyiv Diplomatic Journal, for consistent media support of women-led diplomacy;
  • Dr. Iryna Nizhynska, an internationally decorated peacekeeper and anti-corruption expert;
  • UA Experts, for joint action in protecting women’s rights and preventing gender-based violence.

Additionally, the event featured voices from impactful initiatives such as the “Dreamers” Youth Program, the Vienna School of Diplomacy, and local economic and humanitarian projects aimed at restoring dignity, security, and opportunity for women across Ukraine.

From its founding in 2021, the International  Parliament of mother’s  has grown into a transnational network of changemakers operating in Ukraine, Germany, Austria, Greece, the USA, Japan, and now Switzerland — with upcoming branches in Kharkiv, Odesa, Vinnytsia and more.

“Women don’t just belong in diplomacy — they reshape it,” said President Emma Marynkevych. “This celebration is a reminder that unity, compassion, and female leadership are the keys to building a sustainable peace.”
