Denys Shmyhal discusses economic cooperation and investment in reconstruction with French business representatives
In Paris, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with French business representatives and Laurent Saint-Martin, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and French Nationals Abroad. They discussed key issues, including economic cooperation, investment activities, European integration, and Ukraine’s reconstruction.
“We highly value France’s role in supporting Ukraine’s recovery and infrastructure. The French Government has provided approximately EUR 1.2 billion in state guarantees for French investment projects in Ukraine,” Denys Shmyhal noted, expressing particular gratitude for a EUR 200 million grant agreement to restore critical infrastructure and key economic sectors.
The Prime Minister emphasised that Ukraine continues to demonstrate economic resilience and a pro-European course despite the challenges of war. “Our Government is implementing reforms and tools to boost business activity and improve the investment climate,” he said, highlighting guarantees and incentives for businesses, including tax breaks, the development of industrial parks, and compensation for network connection costs.
Denys Shmyhal outlined promising sectors for investment in Ukraine, including energy, transport and logistics, construction, agriculture, IT, engineering, and the extraction and processing of critical materials. He stressed Ukraine’s interest in establishing joint defence enterprises, which would open opportunities for co-producing innovative security solutions.
“I am confident that by combining our efforts, we will lay a strong foundation for modernising Ukraine’s economy, strengthening energy and food security, and ensuring a stable future,” the Prime Minister concluded.
