France to allocate EUR 200 million to support Ukraine’s reconstruction and European integration projects: Denys Shmyhal

France will provide an additional EUR 200 million to support projects aimed at Ukraine’s reconstruction and integration with the European market. This was agreed during a meeting between the Prime Ministers of Ukraine and France, Denys Shmyhal and François Bayrou.

According to Denys Shmyhal, the French Government confirmed the provision of guarantees in the form of export credit insurance amounting to EUR 1.5 billion.

The parties also agreed to hold a joint meeting of the governments of both countries.

“We are preparing important agreements on cooperation in the defence-industrial sector, critical raw materials, and strategic industries. We are keen to develop our defence partnership and establish joint ventures,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine noted.

The meeting also focused on trade issues and support for Ukraine.

“France remains our reliable strategic partner. In particular, since the start of the full-scale war, Ukraine has received EUR 2 billion in direct budget support alone,” Denys Shmyhal emphasised, adding that Ukraine had also received significant humanitarian, energy, and military assistance from France, including air defence systems, missile systems, artillery, and armoured vehicles.
