The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Finland Petteri Orpo

The meeting was held in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister of Finland Petteri Orpo for comprehensive support of Ukraine: political, military and humanitarian.

«Finland demonstrates leadership on the level of the EU, NATO and international organisations. This is the support that we feel in specific decisions and actions,» Ruslan Stefanchuk noted.

He highly praised the efforts of President Alexander Stubb, Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen, and the entire Finnish government for consistently keeping Ukraine among the priorities of their foreign policy.

During the meeting parties discussed interparliamentary cooperation, in particular support of Ukraine given by Finnish Parliament through speeches, resolutions, hearings. The Chairman thanked the Speaker Jussi Halla-aho for his leadership and multiple visits to Ukraine.

A separate topics were sanction politics, Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine,  Protecting critical infrastructure and countering russia's ‘shadow fleet’ in the Baltic sea.

«We share common goals — Ukraine’s victory, holding russia accountable, and achieving a just and lasting peace,» Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized.

In conclusion he addressed his Finnish colleagues with one word - sisu. «What is part of your national character is also part of the Ukrainian resistance today. Thank you for being with us,» he added.
