Prime Minister discusses cooperation in energy and housing sectors with IFC delegation
On 13 May, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with Alfonso Garcia Mora, Regional Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
The parties discussed the continuation of cooperation between Ukraine and the IFC, as well as the implementation of joint projects, particularly in the energy and housing sectors.
The meeting also addressed initiatives for Ukraine’s future reconstruction. The Prime Minister outlined key priorities, including energy, housing, critical infrastructure, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.
“Business will play a significant role in reconstruction. We discussed ways to attract private capital. We count on the IFC’s expertise and support in this area,” said Denys Shmyhal.
Additionally, the parties explored prospects for expanding cooperation into new sectors.
“We are intensifying efforts within the framework of the Single Project Pipeline,” the Prime Minister emphasised.
He expressed gratitude for the support provided to Ukraine, highlighting the importance of the USD 2 billion financial programme approved at the start of the full-scale war to support Ukrainian businesses, as well as the initiative to allocate a EUR 25 million EU grant for Ukrainian cities and communities to modernise housing for internally displaced persons.
