Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Liechtenstein discuss cooperation, sanctions, and support for recovery
Рrime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with Prime Minister and Minister of General Government Affairs and Finance of the Principality of Liechtenstein Brigitte Haas.
The Head of the Ukrainian Government informed his counterpart about the situation in Ukraine and the daily shelling of peaceful Ukrainian cities.
"We want to stop the war. Therefore, we call on our partners to join forces to put pressure on russia. We appreciate Liechtenstein's support for sanctions against russia. They need to be intensified. The enemy must pay for the damage and destruction," said Denys Shmyhal.
He emphasized the need to jointly develop a mechanism to confiscate frozen russian assets and use them to compensate for the damage caused to Ukraine.
Denys Shmyhal also commended the allocation of CHF 8 million to support rapid recovery and CHF 800 thousand to increase the EBRD's capital.
"I am especially grateful to Liechtenstein for its support of children. In particular, the construction of family-type homes in Poltava and Fastiv," the Prime Minister emphasized. He reminded that a “School of Superheroes” had recently been opened in Lviv with the assistance of Liechtenstein and the First Lady of Ukraine. According to the Head of Government, the activities of the institution contribute to positive changes in the lives of children.
Denys Shmyhal expressed gratitude to Liechtenstein for its consistent and principled support of Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
