The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with the President of the National Assembly of France Yaël Bron-Pivet in Strasbourg. The dialogue centred on Ukraine's European integration, strengthening security cooperation and achieving a just peace.
Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked France for its consistent support of Ukraine on its path to EU membership. «France is one of Ukraine's key allies in the process of European integration. Ukraine not only strives to join the EU, it already plays an important role in ensuring the security of the European continent,» he said.
The parties also discussed security issues and international guarantees for Ukraine. «We seek a just peace based on international law and guaranteeing stability in Europe. It is important for our European partners to be active participants in the peace process and support the long-term security of the region,» the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed.
