Ruslan Stefanchuk attended the Summit of the Chairmen of the Parliaments in Vilnius
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk has taken part in the Summit of the Speakers of the Parliaments of Latvia, Lithuania, Iceland, Estonia, Poland, Ukraine and Finland, held in Vilnius. The participants discussed security challenges, support for Ukraine and further steps to strengthen stability in Europe.
"Ukraine's struggle is a struggle for the security of the whole Europe. Ukrainians are paying a high price for freedom, and we will not stop until we win,' Ruslan Stefanchuk said, as he expressed his gratitude to the partners for their support and called for its continuation.
According to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, sanctions pressure on russia remains a key element of countering the aggressor. "Evil that is not punished seeks revenge. Sanctions must remain tough and effective - against the financial sector of the russian Federation, the military industry, energy and the shadow fleet,' Ruslan Stefanchuk highlighted.
He also noted that Ukraine's membership in NATO remains a strategic goal. Ukraine has the strongest army on the continent, which will only strengthen the Alliance. “russia should not have a veto on our future,” the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada underscored.
Special attention during the Summit was devoted to the matter of further support from the United States. Ukraine is counting on the resumption of defence assistance, as it is an investment in the security of the whole world.
"Ukraine is fighting for its future and the future of the whole of Europe. We thank our allies for their support”, Ruslan Stefanchuk concluded.
