During the working visit to Lithuania, Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, held an important meeting with Gitanas Nausėda, the President of the Republic of Lithuania.

During the conversation, the parties discussed key security issues, energy independence, European integration and sanctions pressure on the russian federation. Ruslan Stefanchuk highlighted that Lithuania remains a reliable ally of Ukraine and continues to provide comprehensive support.

"Lithuania continues to assist Ukraine on the battlefield and invests in our defence sector. The commitment to allocate 0.25% of GDP to support Ukraine is a concrete action that saves lives," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine noted.

The meeting also touched on energy independence, particularly Lithuania's experience disconnecting from russian energy networks and its calls for Europe to stop any energy supplies from the russian federation.

Separately, the parties talked about Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized that Lithuania supports the accession of Ukraine to the EU and NATO, understanding that it strengthens the security of the entire European continent.

Sanctions pressure on russia remains an crucial area of ​​cooperation. Ruslan Stefanchuk and Gitanas Nausėda discussed strengthening sanctions, combating the russian federation's "shadow fleet," and using the frozen assets of the aggressor to rebuild Ukraine.

According to the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament, Lithuania continues to help Ukraine restore destroyed infrastructure, having already implemented nine projects to rebuild schools and bomb shelters.

At the end of the meeting, Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, thanked Gitanas Nausėda, the President of the Republic of Lithuania, for Lithuania's support of Ukraine.
