Ukraine will receive significant financial assistance from international partners

Ukraine has obtained a number of assistance packages from international partners. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on February 25.

He noted that the Support Ukraine Summit, which had taken place on February 24, brought together a large number of leaders of foreign countries.

“We witnessed the unwavering support of partners on Ukraine’s path to a just peace. We have concrete significant results in attracting various assistance,” the Head of Government emphasized.

Thus, according to him, Ukraine will receive EUR 3.5 billion in March from the European Union within the framework of the Ukraine Facility. From Britain, our state will get either GBP 4.5 billion or USD 5.6 billion in military assistance this year.

From Canada, our state will attract USD 5 billion in assistance at the expense of russian assets, as well as military equipment and a grant for the restoration of the energy sector.

Norway will provide Ukraine with EUR 3.5 billion in aid to include military, economic, and humanitarian support.

Denys Shmyhal reported that a military aid package worth EUR 1 billion had been announced by Spain.

“Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, and the Baltic countries will also make their contribution to Ukraine’s stability. We greatly appreciate every manifestation of solidarity and consider it an investment in the security of a united Europe,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

In addition, as Denys Shmyhal emphasized, many sanctions have been adopted by the partners. These include, in particular, the 16th package of sanctions by the European Union, a large package of sanctions by Britain, sanctions by Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. They concern the russian “shadow fleet,” the banking sector, the russian defense industry, and a number of individuals and legal entities.
