The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk had a conversation with the Speaker of the Riksdag of Sweden and thanked for the largest aid package since the beginning of the full-scale war

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk and Speaker of the Riksdag of Sweden Andreas Norlén discussed military cooperation between the two countries during a telephone conversation.

First of all, Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed his deepest condolences over the shooting at a school in Örebro, where 10 people were killed and more than ten were injured. "Ukraine shares this pain with the Swedish people," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada added.

The central topic of the conversation was the issue of defence support for Ukraine. Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked the Government of Sweden for the 18th aid package worth USD 1.23 billion, which is a record since the beginning of the full-scale war and includes air defence systems and ammunition that are critical for Ukraine. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada expressed hope that the Swedish Parliament would approve the package as soon as possible.

"I am grateful to the Swedish Parliament and all political forces for their steadfast support of Ukraine and solidarity with the Ukrainian people. Sweden is one of Ukraine's key allies in Europe. I am grateful for the strategic partnership and unwavering support," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada summed up.
