Olexander Mischenko met with Ambassador of Switzerland to Ukraine Félix Baumann
Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Olexander Mischenko met with Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Ukraine Félix Baumann.
Olexander Mischenko expressed gratitude to the Swiss side for providing humanitarian, political and financial support to Ukraine in resisting Russian armed aggression. He also thanked for the allocation of CHF 1.5 billion for projects for the recovery of Ukraine over the next four years.
The parties noted the active bilateral dialogue between the countries and discussed the schedule of contacts in 2025. The parties also focused on returning Ukrainian children deported by Russia, strengthening sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation as an aggressor state, and coordinating actions in the context of events marking the third anniversary of Russian aggression.
The Deputy Minister thanked the Swiss side for co-organising the first Global Peace Summit and noted Switzerland's involvement in the implementation of the Peace Formula. Olexander Mischenko stressed that the end of Russia's war against Ukraine is possible only through a comprehensive, just and sustainable peace.
During the meeting, the interlocutors also discussed ways to engage the Swiss private sector in projects to rebuild Ukraine's regions. In this context, the Deputy Minister thanked for Switzerland's decision to allocate CHF 500 million to engage Swiss companies in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
The Ambassador of Switzerland informed about the progress and implementation of a number of projects to provide for the critical needs of Ukrainian citizens in the affected regions, restore energy and water supply, and digitalise local authorities.
Olexander Mischenko also informed about the implementation of several international humanitarian initiatives of Ukraine and invited Switzerland to join their implementation.
