The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey discussed strategic partnership and achievement of a just peace in Ukraine
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk had a telephone conversation with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Numan Kurtulmuş. During the conversation, the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament informed his counterpart about the consequences of the recent attacks of the russian federation on the civilian and critical infrastructure of Ukraine, in particular in Izium, Poltava, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa and other cities where civilians suffered.
The heads of the parliaments discussed topical issues of Ukrainian-Turkish partnership and inter-parliamentary cooperation. Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed gratitude for Turkey’s continued support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and its efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace.
The parties also discussed cooperation in the format of the Crimea Platform as an international platform for bringing together countries that respect the principles of international law, as well as the importance of Turkey’s active participation in the process of post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
“Ukraine appreciates the strategic partnership with Turkey and counts on its further support in our country’s struggle for freedom and independence,” concluded the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk.
