The Ukrainian Parliament is highly represented in the negotiations on our country's accession to the European Union

On January 27, Oleksandr Korniienko, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, participated in a working meeting with the Lithuanian delegation and representatives of the UA2UE group. Inga Stanytė-Toločkienė, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine, and the Head of the EU4PAR Program Ugis Sics also participated.

Oleksandr Korniienko thanked the distinguished guests of the Verkhovna Rada for visiting Ukraine during martial law to discuss the country's European integration path.

"I informed about the role of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the negotiations on our accession. For the first time in the last waves of EU enlargement, the Parliament is highly represented and takes a direct part in the process," — highlighted the First Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. According to him, 150 people's deputies of Ukraine are actively involved in the relevant working groups. It will allow for faster and more active adaptation of the necessary legislative changes in national legislation.

"I emphasized our aspirations to open the first clusters this year," said Oleksandr Korniienko.
