Prime Minister met with the heads and representatives of the foreign ministries of Southeast Europe

Tightening of sanctions against russia, confiscation of frozen assets, Ukraine's integration into the EU and NATO and other topics were discussed during a meeting between Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the heads and representatives of the foreign ministries of Southeast Europe.

The meeting gathered together Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova Mihail Popșoi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Tanja Fajon, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania Igli Hasani, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia Gordan Grlić Radman, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina Josip Brkić, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Periša Kastratović, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Republic of North Macedonia Zoran Dimitrovski, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Ana Tinca, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye Mehmet Kemal Bozai.

Denys Shmyhal stressed the importance of the Joint Communiqué adopted today, in which the participating countries condemn russia's full-scale aggression, support the EU sanctions regime against russia, participate in the implementation of the provisions of the Peace Formula and actively support Ukraine in international organisations.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister outlined the Government's priorities: defence, reconstruction (including demining and energy protection), and integration into the EU and NATO. The parties paid considerable attention to Ukraine's European integration progress.

"The experience gained by the countries that have already passed the path to full EU membership is valuable for us. It is also important to strengthen cooperation with the countries that have access to the Black Sea," Denys Shmyhal sttessedvand thanked the countries for supporting Ukraine's movement towards NATO. 

The Prime Minister proposed to enhance bilateral cooperation, in particular in the format of joint intergovernmental consultations, as well as through the involvement of countries in reconstruction projects.

Denys Shmyhal also highlighted that the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Ukraine and Albania had entered into force and welcomed the official opening of the Albanian Embassy.

The Head of the Ukrainian Government thanked each country for supporting Ukraine in its efforts to counter russian armed aggression.
