Ruslan Stefanchuk called on Germany to increase military aid to Ukraine and discussed the Victory Plan
Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, met with Friedrich Merz, the Head of the Christian Democratic Union party and the Head of the CDU/CSU faction in the German Bundestag.
At the beginning of the meeting, he expressed gratitude to Germany and its people for their significant support for Ukraine. Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed the cruciality of maintaining and strengthening this assistance, especially at the current turning point in Ukraine's struggle for independence. "It is necessary to support an increase in the financing of military aid for Ukraine for the next year," he called on his German partners.
The parties also discussed the creation of an international compensation mechanism to hold russia accountable for the war that broke out. They paid particular attention to the fight against russian propaganda, which remains a serious challenge for the international community.
Ruslan Stefanchuk underlined Ukraine's determination to achieve victory and recalled that the President of Ukraine presented the Victory Plan as a tool for implementing the Peace Formula. "This plan aims to strengthen Ukraine and ensure the end of the war on the terms of a just peace," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized.
They discussed all five points of the Victory Plan in detail. Special emphasis was placed on the first point – Ukraine's invitation to NATO. "This will be a powerful geopolitical signal to the world, and the aggressor, and its allies," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated.
