In Zaporizhzhia, Volodymyr Zelenskyy Held a Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff Meeting and Received a Briefing on the Security Situation in the Region

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff and received a briefing on the security situation in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

On Land Forces Day, the President introduced Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi as the new Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and noted that he expects results – stopping the enemy and achieving victory.

“I am grateful for the trust to lead the most powerful and numerous branch of Ukraine’s Armed Forces. I will do everything to ensure its development, enhance its capabilities, and prepare it for all future challenges. My priorities are people, technology, and management processes,” said Mykhailo Drapatyi.

During the meeting, Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Head Ivan Fedorov reported on the construction of fortifications and the strengthening of operational defense lines. A multi-layered defense line was built in the region, including circular defenses for certain cities. He also provided updates on defense production and protection of energy facilities in the region.

According to Ivan Fedorov, Zaporizhzhia ranks first among other regions in terms of funding for the Defense Forces. The region has provided military units with drones, electronic warfare systems, communication equipment, and vehicles. Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for extending Zaporizhzhia’s experience in supporting combat units across all regions bordering Russia.

The President also received updates on the enhancement of air defense in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Special attention was given to restoring heating in Kryvyi Rih. Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration – Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba reported that 90% of the work has been completed. A total of 68 repair crews from across the country are currently working in the city. He also noted that a criminal investigation has been launched into the disruption of the heating season in Kryvyi Rih.

Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Head Serhiy Lysak reported that 218 buildings remain without heating, with plans to restore service by December 22–23.
