I Am Grateful to All Chaplains Who Stand Alongside Our Defenders on the Frontline: The President Took Part in the First Military Prayer Breakfast
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on all religious denominations to contribute to the development of chaplaincy in Ukraine. He made this appeal during the First Military Prayer Breakfast held at the Refectory Church of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
The event was attended by leaders of churches and religious organizations, military chaplains, defenders of Ukraine, and foreign guests.“We defend Ukraine – our nation and our people – with hope for justice and God. We see how these are connected. Armed Forces Day coincides with one of the brightest holidays for our children – Saint Nicholas Day,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Military chaplains recited prayers for each branch of the Defense and Security Forces. The President expressed his gratitude to all those present for their unity, support, and prayers for Ukraine and its people.
“I am especially grateful to our chaplains – those who stand alongside our warriors on the front lines and do not hide from everything they endure there. I thank everyone who works to strengthen Ukrainian chaplaincy. And I urge all denominations to continue this vital and necessary work. United, we will endure this war and ensure the most important outcome – a just peace for Ukraine,” said the President.
