More than 20 projects of Finnish companies received support through instruments of the Finnish plan for reconstruction of Ukraine
Number of large investment projects involving Finnish companies are already being implemented in Ukraine. We expect that there will be many more of them soon. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a meeting with Finnish entrepreneurs held in Helsinki on 18 October with the participation of Prime Minister of Finland Petteri Orpo.
Denys Shmyhal thanked the Government of Finland for developing the plan for reconstruction of Ukraine, which provided effective tools to encourage private business to invest in Ukraine’s economy.
“More than 20 projects of Finnish companies have received support through these instruments. We clearly understand in which sectors investments will be particularly successful for business and beneficial for Ukraine,” the Head of Ukrainian Government said.
In the construction sector in particular, it is advanced technologies, energy efficiency and experience in the construction of civil defence facilities.
In the energy sector, it is the development of renewable energy, decentralisation of the energy system, development of smart grids, energy storage systems, and waste-to-energy conversion.
In education, it is digitalisation and development of an R&D model based on synergies between the government, universities and the private sector.
In the telecommunications sector, it is sixth-generation wireless communication technologies and advanced digital security technologies.
Denys Shmyhal spoke about the measures taken by the Ukrainian Government to support entrepreneurs. These include deregulation, digitalisation, development of industrial parks, and support for projects with significant investments.
“Investing in Ukraine today is a guaranteed benefit tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. In addition to commercial benefits, it is also a contribution to building a secure and democratic Europe,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine stressed.
