Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk met with President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda
During his meeting with the President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, expressed deep gratitude to Lithuania for its all-encompassing assistance, particularly in the military-technical field.
He noted that this year alone, Lithuania has provided three defense aid packages and continues to support Ukraine’s defense capabilities within international coalitions. Additionally, the signed Agreement on Security Cooperation represents essential practical support for Ukraine in its fight against russian aggression.
“We had an open conversation, primarily about the security situation in Ukraine and the urgent challenges we face. We dedicated significant attention to the implementation of the Victory Plan and the decisions Ukraine expects from its partners. The Allies’ support for all five points of the Plan could form a powerful ‘fist’ that would deliver a defeat to russia. I also emphasized that Ukraine's victory is a shared priority for both of our countries," stated Ruslan Stefanchuk.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration. "An invitation to join the Alliance could significantly alter the geopolitical situation in the world, and we are counting on the Allies’ decisiveness in this matter," said the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament.
He also reported that particular attention was given to Ukraine’s path toward EU membership and the support of Ukraine’s energy sector, given russia’s continued attacks on the country’s critical infrastructure.
