Switzerland plans to allocate CHF 5 billion for Ukraine’s reconstruction by 2036

Рrime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal discussed support for Ukraine’s reconstruction with Ignazio Cassis, Head of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Ukraine Mine Action Conference in Lausanne, Switzerland.

According to the Prime Minister, the foundations for Ukraine’s post-war recovery were laid for the first time in Lugano. Switzerland is actively supporting Ukrainian reconstruction projects and intends to provide CHF 5 billion by 2036. The Head of Government expressed his gratitude for the appointment of a special representative for Ukraine’s recovery.

The Prime Minister also spoke about the regional approach to reconstruction and the patronage of the regions.

“We want Swiss companies and Switzerland to take an active part in this. An important step in this regard will be the visit of a delegation of Swiss companies to Ukraine next year, which will open up new opportunities for cooperation and investment,” said Denys Shmyhal.

The parties discussed the Victory Plan of the President of Ukraine. The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the support of the Ukrainian Peace Formula, as well as for the sincere solidarity, humanitarian and other assistance provided to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.
