Finland, having withstood russian aggression, understands the enemy's intentions and plans better than anyone else
In the framework of the working visit of the Government delegation to Helsinki (Finland), Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with the Speaker of the Parliament of Finland Jussi Halla-aho.
The parties first touched upon defense and security issues. They focused on countering the enemy's hybrid aggression.
Denys Shmyhal noted that Finland, having withstood aussian aggression, understands the enemy's intentions and plans better than anyone else. Jussi Halla-aho, for his part, emphasized that Finland understands from its own history why russia had to be stopped in Ukraine.
The participants of the meeting also discussed support for Ukraine's path to the EU and NATO.
“Ukraine will definitely strengthen the eastern flank of the Alliance, guaranteeing security to European countries,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine emphasized.
Denys Shmyhal thanked the Speaker for his personal assistance in recognizing the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
“We remember the powerful speech of Mr. Jussi Halla-Aho in Ukrainian in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in November last year. He aptly noted then: “With their heroic struggle, Ukrainians not only earned the respect of the entire civilized world, but also gave us the courage to act,” the Head of the Ukrainian Government noted.
Denys Shmyhal thanked the Speaker for all the support he provides personally and on behalf of the Parliament of Finland.
