Finland has provided military assistance worth EUR 2.3 billion
Military assistance and Ukraine's needs for weapons and equipment, including air defense systems, were discussed by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and President of Finland Alexander Stubb. The meeting took place during the visit of the Ukrainian delegation to Helsinki, Finland, on October 18.
Denys Shmyhal noted that Alexander Stubb had been among the first leaders to support the provision of long-range weapons to Ukraine and the possibility of striking enemy territory with them.
“I am grateful to Finland for its willingness to provide the 25th package of defense support. In total, Finland has already transferred military assistance worth EUR 2.3 billion,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine noted.
Separately, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for support for the energy sector and the announcement of a new package for the winter, which included, in particular, generators and transformers.
“We appreciate Finland's support of the Ukrainian Peace Formula and the organization of the conference dedicated to Point 8, Environmental Security," Denys Shmyhal emphasized telling about the Victory Plan presented by the President of Ukraine.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Ukraine is grateful to Finland for its important support, which helps strengthen our country in countering russian aggression. He also conveyed sincere wishes from President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
