Croatia is providing Ukraine with military assistance and finance for the energy sector
The Prime Ministers of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Croatia Andrej Plenković discussed military assistance, financial support and the confiscation of russian assets. The meeting took place in Kyiv on 11 September.
The Head of Ukrainian Government noted the successful bilateral cooperation in various fields. Thus, today the representatives of the governments signed two documents:
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation of the Republic of Croatia.
- The Cooperation Programme between the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth of the Republic of Croatia in the field of science and technology.
According to Denys Shmyhal, this will contribute to Ukraine’s further European integration. He thanked Croatia for supporting Ukraine on this path.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine also said that today the Croatian demining company DOK-ING opened its representative office in Ukraine.
“This will help speed up the demining process through the exchange of experience and technology,” Denys Shmyhal said.
During the conversation, the Prime Ministers discussed, among other things, the financial needs to cover the state budget and the confiscation of russian assets. Denys Shmyhal thanked for the support of the EUR 50 billion Ukraine Facility programme.
Andrej Plenković, for his part, said that Croatia was allocating a new military aid package and another EUR 5 million for the Ukrainian energy sector.
“Ukraine highly appreciates all the assistance provided by Croatia. Thank you for supporting our country,” said Denys Shmyhal.
