The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with the Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė and the delegation led by her
“The visit to Kyiv on the Independence Day of Ukraine once again demonstrates the unwavering support of our country and the Ukrainian people,” said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk.
The Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine expressed gratitude for all the assistance provided – financial, humanitarian and especially defence.
In addition, during the meeting, Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed the importance of rehabilitation and training of the Ukrainian military, saying that Ukraine greatly appreciates it.
The parties also discussed Ukraine's path to EU membership. For his part, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine informed about the efforts of the Ukrainian Parliament and emphasised the adoption of the necessary European integration bills.
The meeting also focused on the energy situation in Ukraine. Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked Lithuania for its willingness to provide energy equipment for the reconstruction.
Finally, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk and the Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė paid considerable attention to the issue of increasing sanctions pressure on russia, in particular, on sectors of particular economic importance to the aggressor.
