The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with the heads of parties and factions of the Federal Assembly of the Swiss Confederation in the Swiss Parliament
First of all, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed his gratitude to the Swiss parliamentarians for all the decisions taken in support of Ukraine, and thanked the country for its solidarity and comprehensive assistance, especially in protecting Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homeland because of the war.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine briefed the heads of parties and factions present on the crimes committed by the russian federation in Ukraine, informed them about the daily shelling and killing of civilians and the destruction of critical infrastructure.
“That is why it is necessary to consolidate the international community to establish a comprehensive, sustainable and just peace in Ukraine,” he said, noting that in this context it is extremely important to hold the inaugural Global Peace Summit.
The parties also discussed humanitarian demining and reconstruction. “It was in Switzerland that we launched a political discussion on the restoration of Ukraine. That is why the decision to allocate more than five billion Swiss francs to Ukraine for reconstruction purposes is important,” stressed Ruslan Stefanchuk.
The participants of the meeting also discussed the development and creation of an investment risk insurance system for private business.
At the same time, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine called on Switzerland to join the International Coalition of Countries for the Return of Ukrainian Children Deported by russia. “It is important to join forces and develop effective mechanisms for returning home our children abducted by russia,” Ruslan Stefanchuk concluded.
